1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the DinnerConnect website (dinnerconnect.site) and your participation in DinnerConnect social dining events ("Events"). By registering for an Event or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

DinnerConnect is operated by DinnerConnect Ltd, registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 123 High Street, Oxford, OX1 4BH, United Kingdom.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to register for Events.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3. Event Registration & Payment

  • Events are subject to availability. Registration is confirmed upon successful payment.
  • The current price is £23 per person. Prices may vary by event and are displayed before checkout.
  • Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • By completing payment, you enter into a binding contract for the Event.

4. What's Included

Your registration fee covers:

  • Event organisation and participant matching
  • Recipe suggestions and event coordination
  • Communication support before and during the event

Not included: Groceries for the course you prepare (typically £10–15 per person), transport between venues, and any beverages.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

  • 7+ days before the event: Full refund upon request.
  • 3–7 days before the event: 50% refund, or full refund if we can find a replacement participant.
  • Less than 3 days before: No refund, unless there are exceptional circumstances (illness, emergency). Contact us to discuss.
  • Event cancellation by DinnerConnect: If we cancel an event (e.g., due to insufficient participants), you will receive a full refund.

6. Your Responsibilities as a Participant

  • Hosting: If assigned as host, you agree to provide a clean and safe kitchen environment for your guests.
  • Food safety: You are responsible for basic food hygiene when preparing your course. This includes proper hand-washing, safe food storage, and declaring any allergens.
  • Dietary requirements: You must prepare food that accommodates the dietary needs of your assigned guests, as communicated by DinnerConnect.
  • Punctuality: Please arrive on time for each course and adhere to the event schedule.
  • Respectful behaviour: Treat all participants, hosts, and cooking partners with courtesy and respect.

7. Code of Conduct

DinnerConnect is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. The following behaviour will not be tolerated:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or abuse of any kind
  • Arriving intoxicated or consuming excessive alcohol during the event
  • Damage to property at any host's home
  • Any illegal activity

DinnerConnect reserves the right to exclude any participant who violates this code, without refund.

8. Matching & Partners

  • Solo participants are matched with a cooking partner based on preferences, dietary needs, and kitchen availability.
  • While we make every effort to accommodate preferences, we cannot guarantee specific matches.
  • DinnerConnect reserves the right to reassign participants if necessary for event logistics.

9. Liability

  • DinnerConnect acts as an organiser and matching service. We do not operate a restaurant or catering service.
  • Participants cook and host voluntarily. DinnerConnect is not liable for food quality, allergic reactions, or incidents at private residences.
  • Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from event locations.
  • DinnerConnect's total liability to any participant is limited to the amount paid for the event registration.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the DinnerConnect website (text, images, logos, design) is the property of DinnerConnect Ltd and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.

11. Privacy

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
